Director General of the State Statistical Office participates at the 43rd session of the United Nations Statistical Commission

The Director General of the State Statistical Office, Ms. Blagica Novkovska, MSc, in the period from 24 February to 2 March, will participate at the 43rd annual session of the United Nations Statistical Commission, as well as at several back-to-back thematic seminars. The United Nations Statistical Commission is the highest body in the international statistical system, which is responsible for discussing and approving the international statistical standards. Topics of this year’s session are: population and housing censuses, crime statistics, national accounts, agricultural statistics, environmental-economic accounting, environment statistics, energy statistics, statistics for economies based on natural resources, information and communications technology statistics, national quality assurance frameworks, implementation of the Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics, coordination of statistical activities in the United Nations, efforts in developing a plan of action on statistical development, statistics of human development and regional statistical development in Europe.
Within the 43rd session of the Commission, the Director General of the State Statistical Office will participate at the meeting between the Directors General of the National Statistical Institutes of the Balkan countries and Eurostat.
