Today (17.02.2012), a workshop titled “Macedonian-Swedish Partnership in Statistics, 2009-2011” was held at the State Statistical Office on the occasion of the completion of the long-standing joint project with Swedish statistics, financed by the Swedish agency SIDA.
Opening statements were given by the Director-General of the State Statistical Office, Blagica Novkovska MSc, and the Team Leader of Statistics Sweden, Mr. Eliecen Gomez, who expressed their satisfaction with the implementation of this significant project.
The results and experiences from all three phases of the Project, which started in January 2003, were presented at the Workshop.
Mirjana Bosnjak, Assistant Head of the Sector for Business Statistics, Agricultural Statistics and Statistics on the Environment, presented the results achieved in the area of agricultural and environmental statistics.
The results in the area of web dissemination were presented by Damir Puh, who stressed the importance of using the PC-Axis tool for improving the services of the State Statistical Office and the image of the institution.
Another component of the Project was the meta-data system, which was discussed by Biljana Karajovanovik, who emphasised the benefits and achievements of the State Statistical Office in this field.
The participants were also addressed by Mr. Zoran Bardakovski from the Agency for Promoting the Development of Agriculture from Bitola, who stressed the benefits from this Project for the Agency and their satisfaction with the cooperation with Statistics Sweden and SIDA.
