In the period 1 - 3 September 2011, the State Statistical Office, led by the Director General, MSc Blagica Novkovska, is a host to a delegation from the National Statistical Institute of the Republic of Bulgaria, led by President Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva.
Macedonia and Bulgaria shared their experience in harmonizing of the national statistics with EU standards and in implementing of the EU legislation.
Both delegations include directors of the Regional Statistical Offices, as well, who shared their experience regarding the functions and main tasks of the Regional Statistical Offices.
Furthermore, the institutions shared their experience regarding the Census of Population, Households and Dwellings, 2011.
The visit is in line with the signed Memorandum on Cooperation between the two countries in the field of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The bilateral meeting will contribute to the accelerating of the cooperation in the field of statistics, as well as to the further development of good neighborly relations between the two Balkan countries.
