Тhe pre-enumeration started in accordance with the Law on Census of Population, 2011

Pursuant to the Law on Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in the Republic of Macedonia, 2011 (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia No. 156/2010 and 36/2011), the pre-enumeration of the persons serving in the Army of the Republic of Macedonia in the country and abroad, the persons who are in service at the diplomatic and consular representative offices, the persons who are held in custody or are serving a sentence in a correctional facility or a reformatory, and of the homeless people, started on 1 September 2011.

All activities take place within the planned dynamics.

The State Statistical Office is constantly in contact with the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and actively monitors the execution of the Census.
