The Director of SSO, Mrs. Blagica Novkovska, MSc, attended the 58^th Congress of the International Statistical Institute (ISI), which took place in the period from 21^st to 26^th August, in Dublin, Ireland.

 

Mrs. Novkovska was elected member of the ISI in 2011, thus becoming the first elected member of this Institute from the Republic of Macedonia.

 

The International Statistical Institute organises World Congress biennially, where representatives of the national statistical institutes, research organisations, statistical experts and representatives of several international institutions gather together.

 

At the Dublin Congress, more than 2000 delegates from 120 countries took part. At this year’s Congress, 94 countries had prepared papers within the sessions that were organised and during which the latest statistical trends were discussed.
